Are you ready for the new EU data laws?
General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR is the legislative response to our evolving digital market. Businesses have two years (The new regulation becomes applicable in 2018) to make sure their data processes are fully compliant. The EU GDPR was introduced with the aim of modernising Europe’s data protection laws, by combining 28 individual legislative regions into a single set of laws, businesses will now be answerable to one authority.
The new law applies to any business that handles EU citizen personal data, wherever they are based. As this is a regulation it will be enforced across all member states with little room for interpretation. The new legislation brings serious financial penalties for data breaches, up to 20 million euros or 4% of turnover!
For all these reasons and more it is important to understand the changes and prepare your business now.
We have a firm eye on the market and a network of GDPR consultants to help your business become compliant of the new regulations.
